The Education Index was created in 1996 as a service of
CollegeView, a software company based in Cincinnati.
They state that their primary goal in publishing the Education Index is
to provide learners and educators with access to the best educational Web
sites in a variety of subjects and lifestages. Whether you're researching
astronomy or political science, theology or business,
parenting or health, they want to provide you with quality resources, quickly.
Since it went online in September of 1996, the Education Index has grown
to more than 3,000 sites in 66 categories. They have
listed sites by Subject and by Lifestage (so you can find resources for
preschoolers, college students, continuing education, and
careers, to name a few). Instead of just providing
a list of links, though, they have reviewed the sites and summarizedwhat
you'll find on them. This should save you time as you navigate the Web.
An interesting
feature of the site is the Coffee Shop. The Coffee Shop lets you talk with
other users who are interested in the same things
you are. For example, if you're looking for information on being a new
parent, you can check out various links in the Prenatal
and Infant category of the Education Index, then go
to the Coffee Shop and talk with other users looking for similar information.
You can share stories, tips, tricks, and worries.

Navigator, Microsoft's Internet Explorer or America Online's Web Browser.
Pages contain listings of program providers, both Free Listings and paid
